rom February 24th, 2020, there have been drastic changes with the Cisco Certification program. The CCNA Routing and Switching, Security, Data Center, Voice, Wireless has been replaced by the new CCNA Certification – which requires a single, comprehensive exam. The new CCNA Certification prepares candidates for the associate-level job roles in IT technologies, covers a wide range of fundamentals and software development skills. Instead of choosing your specialization at the CCNA level, you do it at the CCNP level.
The exam domains in the new CCNA 200-301 exam are,
Network Fundamentals
IP Connectivity
IP Services
Security Fundamentals
Network Access
Automation and Programmability
The 200-301 exam consists of 120 questions that covers a breadth of topics like, wireless networking, routing and switching, security, and programming concepts.
New Curriculum
The modules comprised in the new CCNA curriculum are:
Network Fundamentals – routers, switches, cabling, TCP and UDP, IPv4 and IPv6
IP Connectivity – IP routing, OSPFv2
IP Services – NTP, DHCP, QoS, SNMP
Security Fundamentals – VPNs, wireless security, port security
Network Access – VLANs and trunking, EtherChannel
Automation and Programmability – REST APIs, Puppet, Chef, JSON, SDN
Removed Topics
The following topics have been removed from the CCNA curriculum:
Network fundamentals – OSI model
LAN Switching – Frame, VTP, Switch stack
Routing – EIGRP, RIPv2, OSPFv3, Inter-VLAN routing
WAN – PPP, MLPPP, PPPoE, GRE, BGP, WAN access
